bout the health sector It is a multi-super-specialty institute with 20 Pediatric intensive care beds (12 in PICU and 8 in Cardiac ICU) and 5 beds in the Pediatric emergency room. The institute also includes a research center,   medical and nursing school. These busy units admit approximately   800 to 1000 children annually in PICU and 300 to 400 children in pediatric cardiac ICU. 15000 to 18000 children attend pediatric emergency each year, which is a well-equipped separate dedicated area in the main casualty block. Cardiac ICU, a separate physical structure adjoining the cardiac operating room, is well-equipped to deal with post-op complex cardiac patients with pacemaker facilities. 24-hour in-house pediatric super-specialty services (Neurosurgery, cardiology, cardiac surgery, Pediatric surgery, Gastroenterology, Interventional radiology, neurology,   nephrology, hemato-oncology, endocrinology, endocrine-surgery,   rheumatology, interventional radiology, genetics and metabolic)   are available. I joined here as a pediatric cardiac sciences senior registrar, who has a rotatory posting of 3 months in cardiac ICU and   9 months in PICU per calendar year.
