Steps to take before the surgery?
Discuss with your doctor the medication you have been taking. You may be advised to avoid certain medications such as aspirin. Doctors at Medanta will conduct a few tests to monitor the growth of abnormal cells, and shall thoroughly prepare you for the procedure.
What happens during the process?
Under this surgical procedure, the surgeon will make small incisions in your belly. The robotic arms will manoeuvre the operation through human surgical minds (who are specially trained to perform the procedure). The robotic system provides a 3D dimension view of the surgical area. The surgeon will attempt to remove cancer completely.
After the surgery is complete, you will be taken to the recovery room where you will be under constant monitoring, while recovering from the effects of anaesthesia. The usual hospital stay is one or two days. The doctor will give you specific instruction such as caring for the surgical site, avoiding strenuous exercises, etc.
