How Is Augmentation Mammoplasty Done?
Preparation
  • Steps to take before Augmentation Mammoplasty

Breast augmentation starts with a consultation. Our doctors at Medanta will first examine the patient and then will determine if the surgery can be performed. At this stage, surgeon intimates patient about the entire surgical procedure, the risks involved, aftercare, and recovery solutions. Before the surgery is performed, patients are advised to carefully choose their breast implants which come in different sizes and texture.

  • What happens during the procedure?

Before proceeding to the surgery, anaesthesia is given to the patient, and once it has taken effect, the surgeon makes surgical cuts (incisions). Incision is made under the crease of the breast (inframammary incision), alongside the arm-pit (transaxillary incision), and around the nipples (periareolar incision). Then the implant is inserted through the incision, after that the incisions are stitched.
