Steps to take before the treatment
Before the surgery, our doctors at Medanta will ensure if you are in an optimum health to undergo the surgery, and will conduct a few tests such as blood tests, electrocardiography (ECG), a chest X-ray etc. You would be admitted a day before the surgery, and shall not be allowed to eat or drink after midnight.
What happens during the procedure?
Pelvic floor treatment can be surgical or non-surgical. Under the non-surgical treatment, the common procedure is routine squeezing of buttock muscles or pelvic organs. The surgical treatment is performed in OPD to repair the damage to the muscles and tissues. Depending upon the nature of the treatment, the surgery is done laparoscopically through the vagina or abdomen.
After the surgery
The patient would be discharged 2 or 3 days after the surgery. The doctors may advise to avoid strenuous exercise, and use of tampons for upto 4 weeks.
