Vascular Bypass Surgery
Vascular bypass surgery is a surgical procedure performed to create an alternate pathway for blood flow when an artery is blocked or narrowed, typically due to atherosclerosis or other vascular conditions. During the procedure, a healthy blood vessel, often harvested from another part of the body or obtained from a tissue bank, is used to reroute blood flow around the obstructed or damaged segment of the artery.
