An MRI (Magnetic Resource Imaging) is a scanning process that produces accurate and comprehensive images of the human body using a magnetic field, radio waves and a computer. Tesla (T) is a unit of measurement for the strength of the magnetic field. Unlike the CT scans, magnetic resource imaging produces 3-Dimensional images without using the harmful radiations. When you lie inside an MRI machine, the magnetic field temporarily realigns hydrogen atoms in your body. Radio waves cause these aligned atoms to produce very faint signals, which are used to create cross-sectional MRI images which can be stitched together to produce 3-D views of different organs of the body. The 3.0 Tesla MRI creates a strong magnetic field, which leads to fantastic atomic details. The images obtained are clear and of high resolution. These comprehensive images have changed the world of medicine with better accuracy and precision.

What Makes 3.0 Tesla MRI So Unique?

The MAGNETOM Verio technology, used at Medanta, for MRI combines innovation, 3T magnetic strength, an open bore of 70cm and Tim+Dot technology.

The 3 Tesla MRI available at Medanta allows the radiologist to see structures that may not be visible on lower end machines, such as blood vessels as small as 200 to 300 microns, drilling down to the ultra–structural level. The technology also allows for faster scanning thereby reducing the time the patient is in the machine.
