From 02 Dec 2016 : Till 04 Dec 2016AGOICON – 2016 was ‘The Silver Jubilee Conference’ of Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India which was organized from 2nd to 4th December 2016, at Hotel Leela – Ambience, Gurugram. The theme of the event was ‘Gynaecological Cancers: The Way Forward’. This theme was proposed to discuss the ways to tackle with resource constraints and other complex issues faced by doctors at this time, when medical science is going through rapid changes. This Gynaec Oncology Conference was one of the most important events for professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological cancers. This conference also provided a platform for NGOs, social workers, counselors, and all others involved in the prevention and rehabilitation of these cancers to share their views and knowledge on the issue. This conference presented the work of young gynaec oncologists and researchers through oral and poster presentation in the field of Gynaec – oncology. They came from various parts of India and abroad. Apart from this, a number of workshops like Surgical Video Workshop, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Workshop, Fertility Preservation Workshop, Gynaecologic Oncopathology Workshop, Onco Nursing Workshop and Radiation Oncology Workshop were also a part of the event.
In India, one of the most difficult challenge faced in medical science is a large number of Gynaec Cancers and also resource constraint to treat them all. Therefore, this was an excellent platform for knowledge sharing between professionals, advocacy groups and policy makers.
