The Medanta Institute of Education and Research (MIER) is a not-for-profit trust within the Medanta group of institutions governed by a 3-member Board of Trustees. MIER manages all not-for-profit research activities of Global Health Limited and its subsidiaries, which include unfunded intramural research projects as well as projects funded by a variety of public and private funding organizations.
MIER is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.
Research Oversight
MIER activities are managed by a 5-member Managing Committee supported by a 6-member Research Advisory Board. It provides research services for intramural research at the Medanta group of institutions and undertakes a variety of educational activities through project grants received from funding agencies for hospital and community-based basic and applied research and educational projects.
MIER is supported by grants from Global Health Limited as well as from a variety of public and private funding agencies, through which it maintains capabilities in research proposal and protocol development, study designing, data management biostatistics, and medical writing. MIER has entered into research collaborations with partner research and educational institutions to extend capabilities into laboratory research, bioinformatics, and community medicine in order to further its research and educational objectives.
