About Dr. Ashish Kumar Jha

Dr. Ashish Kumar Jha is a leading gastroenterologist and hematologist in India, with vast experience of more than 16 years in his field. Post completing his DM (Gastroenterology) from SMS Medical College, Jaipur in 2010, Dr. Jha joined Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata, and rose to the level of adjunct associate Professor. In 2014 he joined the Department of gastroenterology, IGIMS, Patna, and rose to the level of additional professor where he worked for about 9-years before joining Medanta. He has vast experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, both adult and pediatrics. Dr. Ashish Kumar Jha is a pioneer in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) related therapeutic procedures in this part of the country. He has treated many diseases by new or modified endoscopic techniques and applauded Globally.
He has cleared the European Specialty Examination in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ESEGH). He has > 105 publications (>40 are international) and authored 4 chapters in books. He is the editor of the World Journal of GI Endoscopy and a reviewer of many national and international medical journals. He has presented his research papers at many national and international forums including South Korea and Hong Kong. Dr. Jha has been honored with numerous awards. Apart from the Asian Young Endoscopist award by KSGE (Korea), he has been awarded the Go-IMKASID award (Korea), the FISG award by the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Travel Awards by IDDF- Hong Kong and SGEI-India; and Sanjivani Award by Prabhat Khabar health. He is actively spreading public healthcare awareness through YouTube channel and newspapers
He has vast experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, both adult and pediatrics, including, Endoscopic dilatations/Foreign body removal from the gastrointestinal tract/Variceal Sclerotherapy-Band ligation/APC/ Haemorrhoidal sclerotherapy-band ligation/Glue injection of gastric varices /ERCP/Biliary stone extraction/Biliary (Plastic/Metal) stenting/Pancreatic stenting/ Nasobiliary drainage/Foreign body removal/Esophageal stent/Polypectomy/ Endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)/Enteral (duodenal and colonic) stent/Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)/Endoscopic treatment of Walled-off Pancreatic necrosis, pseudocyst/Capsule Endoscopy/Balloon enteroscopy/Manometry and Ph metry.
