Dr. Deepak Kumar Nirala is an Associate Consultant in Critical Care Medicine at Jay Prabha Medanta Super Speciality Hospital, Patna. He earned his M.B.B.S. from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & Hospital, Bhagalpur, followed by a post-graduate degree in Anaesthesiology from Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna. Furthering his expertise, he completed a PDCC in Critical Care Medicine from Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, where he gained extensive experience managing a 30-bedded ICU. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a crucial role in managing ARDS patients, particularly focusing on their weaning. His areas of special interest include mechanical and non-invasive ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, eFAST, and sepsis management. Dr. Nirala is a life member of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Indian Society of Anaesthesiology, and he is proficient in ultrasound-guided procedures in critically ill patients and the screening of shock, including eFAST."
