Medanta Orthopaedics Institute is an award-winning, state-of-the-art centre dedicated to end-to-end care of all musculoskeletal conditions across age groups, especially children whose bone and joint needs vary significantly from adults. Led by a team of world-renowned clinical experts, this multidisciplinary team of orthopaedic surgeons, pain management specialists, and physiotherapists offer comprehensive, personalised treatments for enhanced quality of life. We specialise in joint replacements, and treatment of sports injuries, trauma, congenital defects, and spine problems. Our experts are backed by robust teams of specially trained nursing and paramedical staff working, utilising advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies to provide top-notch care.
Surgical replacement of a worn-out joint with an artificial implant. We perform Total Knee Replacements and Hip Replacements using advanced techniques (including computer navigation/robotics for precision). These procedures dramatically reduce pain and improve mobility for patients with severe arthritis or joint damage, and most are walking with support within a day or two after surgery.
A minimally invasive procedure to fix torn ligaments within joints. For example, in an ACL reconstruction, we use arthroscopy (small incisions with a camera) to replace a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the knee with a graft. This restores stability to the knee. Arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulder and other joints similarly allow us to repair tissues with minimal disruption, leading to faster rehabilitation.
High-end surgical interventions for spine problems. A Discectomy involves removing part of a herniated disc that is pressing on nerves to relieve leg or arm pain. In cases of instability or severe degeneration, a Spinal Fusion may be done, where two or more vertebrae are fused with screws and rods to stabilise the spine. These spine surgeries utilise modern implants and navigation to maximise safety and effectiveness.
Surgical repair of complex fractures using techniques like Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF). In ORIF, broken bone fragments are first realigned (open reduction) and then secured with specialised hardware (plates, screws, intramedullary nails) to hold them in place as they heal. Our trauma surgeons ensure that even complicated fractures (for example, hip fractures, compound fractures with multiple pieces) are fixed in a way that allows early mobilisation and optimal healing, reducing the risk of long-term deformity or dysfunction.
A degenerative joint disease where cartilage wears down over time, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility in weight-bearing joints like the knees and hips. Patients are offered treatments ranging from medications and physiotherapy for early arthritis to joint injections or total joint replacement in advanced cases to relieve pain and restore movement.
Broken bones and musculoskeletal injuries resulting from falls, accidents, or impacts. These can range from simple fractures to complex multiple-bone injuries. Our orthopaedic team promptly evaluates and treats fractures with casting or surgical fixation (using plates, screws, or rods) to ensure proper healing and alignment, minimising long-term disability.
Conditions affecting the spine such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or spondylolisthesis, which can cause back pain, nerve compression, or sciatica. We provide comprehensive spine care – from conservative management (medications, physical therapy) to advanced spine surgeries (discectomy, laminectomy or spinal fusion) for severe cases – aiming to relieve pain and prevent neurological complications.
Injuries like ACL tears in the knee, meniscus tears, Achilles tendon ruptures, or shoulder rotator cuff injuries commonly occur during sports or exercise. Our sports medicine experts specialise in these conditions, offering arthroscopic ligament reconstructions, tendon repairs, and tailored rehabilitation programs to help patients regain strength and return to their activities safely.
