Dr. Ashish Kumar Bansal

Dr Ashish Kumar Bansal, a Gastro surgeon, did his M.B.B.S and M.S. (General Surgery) from Shri M P Shah Medical College, Jamnagar, Gujarat. He, then, joined M.Ch (Gastrosurgery) at the prestigious Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences after securing All India Rank 1 in the entrance examination. He is also trained in Liver Transplantation from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad. He was instrumental in starting Live Donor Liver transplantation surgeries in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. He has been extensively trained in complex hepatobiliary disorders and other gastrointestinal surgeries. He was been a part of more than 2000 major hepatobiliary and gastro surgeries and led more than 1000 major surgeries. His core areas of interest are liver, Gall bladder and pancreatic cancer, complex biliary stone disease, corrosive strictures, and colon/rectal cancer. He has published multiple research articles and takes pride in teaching young gastro surgeons.
