What happens during the treatment?
The technologist would apply an acoustic gel on the arm or leg over the area that is to be viewed. A painless instrument thereafter is gently taken across the portion of the body to find out the location of the vein. The technician may mark the area to be observed. These marks cannot be removed until directed by the doctor. You will be asked to lie on the back and relax, while the images created by the ultrasound are recorded by a trained technician.

After the procedure
As the imaging procedure gets completed, the clear ultrasound gel shall be wiped off the skin. The patient is able to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.
This procedure very effectively creates a map of the veins and does not have any known harmful risk.
