How Is Nasal Tip Plasty Done?
Preparation
  • Steps to take before the procedure

Our team of doctors at Medanta will answer all your questions and concerns, prior to the surgery. You may have to take a few tests to ensure you are in good health to undergo the surgery and to assess the treatment plan. Your doctor may advise you to stop a few medications or to start taking new medicines.

Preparation
Treatment
  • What happens during the procedure?

After giving a dose of topical anaesthesia, incisions are made inside the nose to access the nose tip. A layer of cartilage is then added to the tip of the nose to give it a lift and elevation. These cartilages are commonly taken from the back of the ears of the patient, but the new technology involves filling of the tip of the nose with clinically approved silicon. The incisions are then closed, and the patient is advised not to tamper with it for some time.

Treatment
Post Treatment
  • After the procedure

The nasal tip plasty is a quick process. One can get their nose tip done in one day and can get back to work the next day. Your doctor will give you all the postoperative instructions and will answer to all your questions.

What are the benefits and risks of Nasal Tip Plasty procedure?

Nasal tip plasty is a fairly simple procedure, but as any other surgical process, it has a few risks associated with it, which a person must be aware of.

Benefits
Benefits

First and foremost, it treats a big nose giving it more definition and structure. The tip looks more sculpted and can enhance the overall feel of the face. The Nasal Tip Plasty surgery does not treat the bridge of the nose or the roof of the nose. The people who are looking to get a short, made-to-measure surgery can highly be benefitted by this procedure. The surgical process is not extensive, and one just needs a day to get it done.

Risks
Risks

The risks associated with the Nasal Tip Plasty surgery are:

  • Scarring, bleeding, and numbness.
  • Chances of collapse.
  • Damage to deeper structure.
  • Skin cancer.
  • Allergic reaction.

Limitations
Limitations

Nasal tip plasty is a short quick method to enhance the tip of the nose, but if it is not performed carefully and with utmost precision, the surgery can make the tip unnecessarily elevated resulting in a parrot nose. During nasal tip plasty, the angle between the nasal tip and the lips is also adjusted, and therefore, there is a possible risk of uneven angle projection.
