Dr. Kumar pursued his higher surgical training in the UK and advanced laparoscopic training from Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. He has over 25 years of experience and holds expertise in gastrointestinal surgery, therapeutic endoscopy, colorectal surgery, hernia surgery and hepatobiliary surgery. He has performed over 25,000 gastrointestinal surgeries using laparoscopic & open techniques, and maximum number of bile duct surgeries in the state. Dr. Sanjoy Kumar also pioneered laparoscopic diaphragmatic hernia repair in Bihar.
