Dr Belal Bin Asaf is a Thoracic (Chest) Surgeon who specialises in the treatment of surgical diseases of the chest involving the lungs, mediastinum, Trachea (Windpipe), esophagus (food pipe) and diaphragm. He is recognised nationwide as an expert and a leader in the field of minimally invasive thoracic surgery like Video-assisted Surgery (VATS / Key-Hole surgery) and robotic thoracic surgery. He specialises in and has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery (VATS) for lung cancer and is one of the most experienced surgeons in the country for performing robotic thymectomy for both myasthenia gravis and thymoma. He is also amongst the very few surgeons in the country who perform surgery for Mesothelioma. He is frequently invited and has delivered dozens of lectures in various national and international conferences on VATS and Robotic Thoracic Surgery.
