Stop Dengue is a Mission started by Department of Internal Medicine, Medanta the Medicity. This mission was started by Dr. Sushila Kataria, Director, Department of Internal Medicine. The mission was launched by Dr. Naresh Trehan, CMD, Medanta-The Medicity.

The Mission
In India cases of Dengue fever are reported from every state. In monsoon season, the mosquito breeding increases, exponentially and we see majority of cases of dengue fever in July to November only. As per National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) data, Govt. Of India, last year 1 Lac cases were reported from India and 220 people died of this disease in 2015. This is definitely under reported, so we can understand the magnitude of problem.
STOP Dengue Mission is one such initiative. The aim is to reduce Dengue related mortality and morbidity through a continuous round the year activity in 3 years.
The main focus of the program is on:
- Prevention
- Early Diagnosis
- Uniform and standard care
- Effective and live case reporting
Prevention-Prevention is the main way to reduce suffering and death due to the disease. An effective program needs participation of people, public and private (PPP) places on equal levels.
Public awareness is increased through multiple levels engagement with school children, RWA members and Sarpanches and Panchayats.
