See your health care provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Unexplained, persistent vomiting
  • Double vision or unexplained blurring of vision, especially on only one side
  • Lethargy or increased sleepiness
  • Seizures or weakness in one part of the body
  • Severe headache

Although headaches are thought to be a common symptom of Brain Tumor, they may not occur until late in the progression of the disease.  If you notice any significant changes in your headache pattern or general health then you should visit a hospital for check-up.

When a patient comes to Medanta with one or more of such symptoms, Neurosurgeons and their team at Medanta conduct detail physical examination, investigation of patient history and their genetic background. If the cause is expected to be tumor, he or she is immediately referred for brain imaging either by CT scan or MRI scan to locate it and further tests regarding the functions performed by that area of the brain are done. For example, if the tumor is located near the pituitary gland which is responsible for hormone regulation and vision in the human body then patients will undergo vision field test conducted by an ophthalmologist as well as hormone regulation tests by an Endocrinologist. The motive is not only to locate the tumor but to design a complete, effective and long term solution for the patient.   With a multi-dimensional super specialty focus Medanta caters to patients for more than 20 specialties proving to be the hub for the best set of medical solutions for the patient.

Numerous diagnostic methods are employed for such complete study of the patient’s condition, hence At Medanta, patients have access to the technologically advanced diagnostic tools such as  PET, S PECT, CT (256 slice CT) and 3 Tesla MRI machines
