After that, he received his basic general surgery training at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur with honours like standing first in UPASICON conference. Thereafter, he went on to his basic neurosurgical training from G.B. Pant Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (GIPMER), New Delhi with a silver medal in Best Paper Award for his thesis work in DNACON.
