Pain Management Nurse - Dedicated staff nurses working with our team of anesthetists for pain management of patients in the hospital. Their basic responsibility includes daily pain assessment of post operative patients using Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) Pump (Intravenous and Epidural), preparation of medication and refilling of PCA Pump, assisting anesthetists in epidural dressing and removal of the epidural line. They also educate patients on effective pain management.
Clinical Research Nurse - This team of nurses works with our research team. They are responsible for coordinating clinical trials as per appropriate guidelines. They are involved in collection of data and submit studies to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). They also attend to follow-up patient visits and provide counseling to patients for medication & physical exercises.
Stoma Care - Work in our Stoma OPD & IPD to manage patients, who have undergone GI surgery, liver surgery, chemotherapies, etc
Oncology Nurse - These nurses handle patients who come for chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants. They prepare and administer chemotherapeutic drugs, assist in intravenous catheterization and maintenance of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter, Central Venous Catheter and Bone Marrow Aspiration. They handle biomedical instruments required for medication administration using infusion pump, laminar hood etc.
IV Cannulation Nurse - These nurses are certified in IV Cannulation and are trained to ensure adherence to Medanta's single prick per cannulation policy. They are responsible for timely follow up and changing established Intra-Venous (IV) lines.
Infection Control Nurse - The ICN nurses are trained for carrying out infection prevention and control practices. They conduct active surveillance in all the areas of the hospital to ensure effective infection controls. They also conduct awareness programs amongst staff, patients and visitors on hygiene and infection prevention.
Critical Care Nurse - Our critical care nurses are certified to take care of patients in ICUs and other critical care units. They monitor life support & other ICU equipment, provide advanced life support measures, assist physicians with special procedures and emergency nursing when required.
Cardiovascular Nurse - These nurses work with our team of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and other cardiac specialists. They are skilled to handle patients with Holter monitors, revive patients during cardiac emergencies and manage invasive cardiac monitoring viz. cardiac IV infusions and insulin drip with blood glucose monitoring.
Orthopedic Nurse - Skilled in pre and post operative care of knee replacements, hip replacements and other advanced orthopedic procedures, these nurses are efficient in weaning the patients towards ambulation to ensure full rehabilitation.
Neurology Nurse - These nurses specialize in neurological assessments and keep our team of neurosurgeons updated on all significant changes in the patient's condition, they also keep patient's family members involved and informed about patient care.
Transplant Nurse - These nurses are actively involved in the transplants of kidney, liver and bone marrow. They are responsible for preparing patients before operations, assisting surgeons during transplants and taking post-operative care of patients in intensive care units and in-patient wards. They are adept at using barrier and reverse barrier techniques effectively in order to prevent infections, strictly adhering to transplant protocols.
